Why do we penalize people for being frugal, saving and making good choices.?

To follow up on the last post about the inequality of the economic stimulus package.

Consider this. A person who lives frugally, saves their money, and retires with assets and money in the bank, may not receive their full social security benefit, because of their assets.

However, someone who spends every penny they have, and retires with nothing, will receive the full benefit.

How is this fair? We reward for poor choices. And, penalize those who save and are .

Same with children…the more children one has, and the less they make, the more taxes they receive back. Eventhough, the size of the family was their choice, and they knew their econmic situation.

Again, why is this fair?
